Bethel Public Library Hosting 'Old Home Day'
Bethel Public Library Hosting
âOld Home Dayâ
On Saturday, July 4, the Town of Bethel is hosting âOld Home Dayâ â one of the many events taking place this year to celebrate the Bethel Public Libraryâs Centennial. The event will be held from 8 am to 3 pm on the Bethel Library and Municipal Center grounds and will be a community picnic with food, games, and entertainment for the entire family. All are invited to bring blankets or beach chairs to the front lawn of the library to enjoy the live entertainment.
Food will be available for purchase beginning at 8 am at the breakfast tent, with coffee provided by Redding Roasters, scones from the Daily Fair, and bagels from The Bagel Crossing. The Spot will be providing a barbeque lunch including ribs and old-fashioned potato salad. Finally, Varanoâs Bakery is providing birthday cake for all. The theme of the event will be to replicate a âhometownâ event that would have taken place in the early 1900s. There will be a $5 charge of admission for access to all games and crafts for the day.
All proceeds from the event will go to the funding of the Bethel Public Libraryâs Capital Campaign. For more information, call or email Shani Burke Specht, chairman, Library Board of Directors, at 794-8756 or at sburkespecht@bethellibrary.org.
