Peter J. Darbisi, Sr
Peter âGabby,â âCurlyâ J. Darbisi, Sr, 81, of Bridgeport died suddenly on July 2 at Bridgeport Hospital.
He is survived by his son Peter J., Jr, and his wife, Patricia, of Sandy Hook.
Mr Darbisi, born and raised in Bridgeport, was retired from West End Lumber Company. A veteran of WWII, Mr Darbisi was also an active member of the Holy Name Society of St Ambrose Church.
He was the widower of Grace (Poppa) Darbisi and is survived by two other children and their spouses, Patricia Martino and her husband Frank of Bridgeport, and Ronald Darbisi and his wife Lucy of Monroe. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Lisa LeBlanc and James of Newtown, Donna DaMota and Joaquim of Monroe, Denise DâAmore and William of Trumbull, Frank Martino and Lisa of Stratford, Sheila Roma and Augie of Stratford, and Christopher, Nicholas, and Michael Darbisi, all of Monroe; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Perillo of Bridgeport; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Rose Sarka.
The funeral was held on July 6 from the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 339 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and in St Ambrose Church for a Mass of Christian Burial.
Entombment was in St Michael Mausoleum in Stratford.
