CHA And American College Of Healthcare Executives
DANBURY â Gerard D. Robilotti of Newtown, executive vice president of Danbury Health Systems and president of the Danbury Hospital Development Fund, has received honorary membership from the Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) and the Regent Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) of the American Hospital Association. Both awards were presented at the 82nd CHA Annual Meeting held in June at the Aqua Turf Club, Southington.
The awards recognize Mr Robilottiâs role as chairman of the CHA Board of Directors in 1998 and nearly 30 years of service on behalf of hospitals and other health care organizations on the local, state, and national levels. The ACHE award for senior level healthcare executives recognizes Mr Robilottiâs innovative leadership and management abilities, capability for promoting his organizationâs growth and stature in the community, contributions to the development of others in health care professions, and participation in civic and community activities.
Prior to his current position, Mr Robilotti spent eight years as the hospitalâs president and chief operating officer. He joined the Hospital in 1971 as an assistant administrator and has served in a variety of senior administrative roles. Prior to joining Danbury Hospital, Mr Robilotti served in administrative and managerial roles at New York â Downtown Hospital, Cabrini Medical Center, and St Vincentâs Hospital and Medical Center, all located in New York City.
Mr Robilotti earned a bachelorâs degree in history from Manhattan College and his masterâs degree in hospital administration from Columbia University. He holds an appointment as associate dean and graduate studies officer at the New York Medical College and has served as an academic lecturer at Western Connecticut State University, Quinnipiac College, University of Connecticut, and Yale University.
Mr Robilotti has published articles for professional journals and served as president of Boy Scouts of America, Fairfield County Council. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, at the Royal Society of Health, and the New York Academy of Medicine. Mr Robilotti also serves on the Board of the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce and the Western Connecticut State University Foundation.
In addition, Mr Robilotti has served as the delegate for Connecticut to the American Hospital Association, Regional Policy #1, and chairman of the Connecticut Hospital Associationâs Board of Trustees. He just completed his role as regent for Connecticut for the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Mr Robilotti resides in Newtown with his wife, Martha.
