K. Michael Snyder Appointed To

Advisory Council

K. Michael Snyder of Allstate Insurance in Newtown has been appointed to the Connecticut Governor’s Small Business Advisory Council.

The council’s mission is to act as the voice of the small business community in bringing its concerns, issues, and interests to the governor’s office, the state legislature, and regulatory bodies. The council seeks to ensure that small businesses have appropriate access to services available through state agencies and organizations while evaluating the performance of state and public agencies serving the needs of small business. The council also plays a large role in assisting the state’s small business economic development efforts.

“I am so pleased to be part of this important business council,” Mr Snyder said. “It is a natural extension of how insurance agents serve their community. I’m honored to work with other business owners and people who possess a civic-minded commitment to Connecticut.”

Mr Snyder is an exclusive Allstate agent who has been with the company for 37 years. For six years he served on the state’s Commission on Compensation of Elected State Officers and Judges.

Mr Snyder said he is very excited to be working with Gov Jodi Rell and considers her a friend and valuable business contact. He is entitled to serve on the advisory council for a period of time equal to the governor’s term, or until a successor is appointed and has qualified, whichever is longer.

Anyone who is interested in meeting Mr Snyder and discussing relevant business issues, can reach him at the Allstate Insurance office at 103 South Main Street by calling 426-8080.
