Tony Willie and Mascolo doubled to pace the offense while Charlie Coates drove in two runs and Tyler Hull drove in one. Doug Bonjour and Chris Sheehan also banged out singles.
For Newtown #1, Jason Petrasanta belted out a pair of hits while John Talmadge and Cameron Law had one apiece. Mike Morrison played a solid defensive game while Jeremy Graves scattered five hits and whiffed six batters in a complete-game effort.
Newtown #2 followed up that win with a convincing 19-5 victory over Danbury #1. Coates had two hits and three RBI while Willie and Mascolo had two hits apiece. Matt Nichols drove in a pair of runs.
Mark Fracker whiffed eight batters and allowed just two hits in a strong pitching effort.
