The Go-Goâs In Danbury, Sun., Part Of National Tour
DANBURY â The Go-Goâs will perform at the 2001 Audi Summer Concert Series this Sunday, July 8, at 7 pm. The band is best known for such classics as âOur Lips Are Sealed,â âWe Got The Beat,â âVacation,â and âHead Over Heals.â The Go-Goâs are promoting their new album, God Bless The Go-Goâs, with a three-month nationwide tour. This is their first studio album in 17 years.
The Go-Goâsâ earlier album, 1981âs Beauty And The Beat, allowed the band to attain notable commercial success, staying at number one for six weeks and selling over two million copies. The bandâs new album reflects the groupâs punk/pop style and vivacious energy that made Belinda Carlisle and the Go-Goâs famous in the 1970s and â80s.
For the Go-Goâs, âfunâ has always been the operative word. Sundayâs concert promises to be a delightful evening for all filled with their legacy of classic songs as well as new material.
The Go-Goâs concert is sponsored by AvalonBay Communities. The concert begins at 7 pm, with doors opening at 5. Tickets range from $25 for the lawn ($10 children 3-12) to $40 for reserved seats and $60 for Gold reserved seats. Tickets are available from the Ives box office or at all TicketMaster outlets (203-744-8100) and all Fileneâs, The Wiz, and HMV Records stores.
