Independence Day Closings

All town offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, in honor of Independence Day.

Newtown Senior Center, C.H. Booth Library, and the transfer station also will be closed on Thursday.

There will be no regular mail delivery/pickup or retail services for the United States Postal Service on Thursday.

All Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) offices will be closed on July 4 for the federal holiday. DMV’s regional service center and major service centers will reopen Friday, July 5, at 7:45 am. DMV Express Offices will also reopen on Friday, July 5, to process renewals for driver’s licenses and non-driver ID cards. Customers can visit [naviga:u]ct.gov.dmv/offices[/naviga:u] for a complete list of offices and hours.

Edmond Town Hall will also be closed on Thursday. Movie screenings will resume on Friday.

FAITH Food Pantry will also be closed due to the holiday. It will reopen for its next regular session at 9:30 am Tuesday, July 9.

The Bee Publishing Company offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. We will reopen on Friday, July 5.

Readers are reminded that advertising and editorial deadlines for the July 5, 2019 print edition of The Newtown Bee [naviga:u]will all be 24 hours earlier[/naviga:u] than usual due to the holiday.
