To the Editor:

Chuck and I were so sorry not to be able to attend the event for Julia Wasserman and Mae Schmidle, but we did want to add our two cents about these outstanding and notable ladies for their timeless work for Newtown.  We are pleased Julia and Mae have been formally recognized for their dedication to a better life, safe community and the best of Newtown. 

 Their aspirations and  relentless spirit have defiantly helped define Newtown. Those of us who have worked with those dedicated women can attest to the fact that of the many people who walk in and out of our life, only a few true friends leave footprints in your heart as these two Grand Dames of Newtown certainly have done.

It has been a privilege to both know them and to be inspired by their example. We should all toast and cheer them for their love of Newtown.  Thank you Julia and Mae for all your hard work which has benefited all of us and has truly made it “Nicer In Newtown.”
