Moving Violations

Police report they stopped motorist Jason Uliano, 31, of 34 Swamp Road about 2:34 pm June 28 on Wasserman Way because Uliano was driving faster than the posted speed limit.

On investigating, police charged Uliano with traveling too fast for conditions and with driving while under suspension. Police released Uliano on a written promise to appear in court on July 12.

Three Vehicles

A three-vehicle accident occurred near 236 Berkshire Road at about 5:15 pm on June 28. Sandy Hook firefighters went to the scene, as did the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Eastbound motorist Christa Clark, 28, of Waterbury, who was driving a 1998 Nissan, slowed to make a right turn into a driveway, police said. Eastbound motorist Robert Deletis, 42, of Bethel, who was driving a 2005 Jeep behind the Nissan, also slowed, police said.

Eastbound motorist Jason Bernardo, 20, of Monroe, who was driving a 1996 Honda, struck the rear end of the Jeep, pushing the Jeep into the westbound travel lane, police said. The Honda then struck the rear end of the Nissan, police said.

Clark was transported to Danbury Hospital to be checked for neck pain. Police issued Bernardo an infraction ticket for following too closely.
