Loreny Hazel
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Loreny Hazel, a beloved wife, mother, and cherished member of the community. Loreny left this world on June 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and a zest for life that will be remembered by all who knew her.
Loreny was born on December 23, 1945, in San Jose, Costa Rica, to the proud parents Jose Angel Ulloa and Cristina Montoya Ulloa. She spent her childhood in Costa Rica, growing up in a warm and loving family environment. It was during her youth that she crossed paths with the love of her life, Robert Hazel, a resident of Limon, Costa Rica. From the moment they met at the age of 17, their hearts became inseparable, and they embarked on a journey together that would span a lifetime.
With dreams in their hearts, Loreny and Robert ventured to the United States, eventually settling in Bethel, Connecticut. Loreny’s radiant personality and infectious smile touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She had a genuine interest in people’s well-being, which led her to a fulfilling career in the healthcare profession. Loreny worked as a dental hygienist and later found her calling in pediatric office administration, always ensuring the care and comfort of those entrusted to her. Her dedication and kindness left an indelible mark on the lives of her patients and colleagues.
Family was at the center of Loreny’s world, and she cherished the time spent with her loved ones. She and Robert were blessed with two children, Karyn and Brian, who brought immense joy and purpose to her life. Loreny’s love for her family was immeasurable, and she poured her heart into nurturing and supporting them. Karyn and Brian, along with Robert, will forever hold the memories of their beloved wife and mother close to their hearts.
Loreny was also a treasured sibling to her seven brothers and sisters: Fernando (deceased), Jose, Sara, Liliana, Damarys, Randall, and Jesu.
Their bond as a family was strong, providing a foundation of love and support that carried them through both joyous and challenging times.
In every aspect of her life, Loreny Hazel embodied the values of love, compassion, and dedication. Her vibrant spirit and unwavering commitment to her family and profession will forever be an inspiration to those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
As we say our final goodbyes, let us celebrate the beautiful life of Loreny Hazel and hold her memory in our hearts. In honor of her wishes, a private family ceremony will be held to pay tribute to her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s as a lasting tribute to Loreny’s compassionate nature and her lifelong commitment to the well-being of others.
Loreny Hazel’s light will continue to shine brightly through the lives she touched, and her memory will forever be a beacon of love and warmth. May she rest in eternal peace.
Services for Loreny will be held on Saturday, July 1, at St Mary Church in Bethel, 25 Dodgingtown Rd, Bethel CT 06801, with a brief viewing at 9:30 am prior to services.
