For anyone who would like to learn more about Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Bahai, Unitarianism, or one of the many Christian communities, including Orthodox, Anglican, Protestant, and Roman Catholic — all in a nonthreatening manner — Sandy Hook resident the Reverend Leo McIlrath offers the ongoing television program Unity In Diversity.

The program features interviews with prominent pastors, rabbis, imams, and other spiritual leaders of a variety of local faith communities. It can be viewed on Charter Communications Channel 21 each Monday at 12:30 pm and again on Wednesday at 5:30 pm.

The program for July 2 and 4 will feature “The History of St Peter Church in Danbury.”

Upcoming guests and/or topics include: July 9 and 11, former pastors of St John Episcopal Church, New Milford; July 16 and 18, Reverend Ocean of Wisdom on “Buddhism and Its History in Greater Danbury”; and July 23 and 25, Sister Francis Smalkowski, chaplain to the John Paul II Health Center in Danbury. (Please note the July 9 and 11 program is a change from the originally announced schedule for that week.)

Rev McIlrath, Dmin, is coordinator of the Corpus Connecticut Community and ecumenical chaplain to The Lutheran Home of Southbury. Viewers are invited to respond to the programs at lionofjudah56@gmail.com.
