The Senior Center and C.H. Booth Library also will be closed.

The transfer station on Ethan Allen Road will be closed.

In accordance with the recently enacted state liquor laws, retail sales of alcohol will be allowed on Wednesday.

The Bee offices will also be closed. All deadlines are pushed up by 24 hours, but the paper will still be published on Thursday.

This "NIMBY" pressure often leads to project rejections that exceed the department's actual jurisdiction or authority. Consequently, developers face a limited set of options: either engage in expensive legal battles or leverage the Connecticut Affordable Housing Land Use Appeals Procedure (CGS § 8-30g) as a recourse.

You are correct, Bruce. I know how hard these plans are to put together, but I still believe that we can have more definitive and measurable goals. I know there are a number of units coming online, and the community truly needs them. If only we can move the development of affordable housing to more of a partnership between the community and the developers than the adversarial tug-of-war it seems to be now, that would be good progress.
