8 Year Olds

Stratton-Faxon: In the final game of the year, the Stratton-Faxon Phillies played stellar defensive ball. Shortstop Adam Zibluk, first baseman Mason Woodard, and second baseman Steven Berard all made nice catches. Thomas Speiser pitched well and blasted a single to the outfield. Connor Faxon, Adam Zibluk, Cameron Audet, and Julian Crone also had nice solid hits. Matthew Berard showed his speed on the bases with some aggressive base running. Colin Adis, Andon Bambino, and Steven Cotton all showed their power by blasting doubles.

The Landscaping Unlimited Yellow Jackets sluggishly took the field Saturday with bellies full of pizza, juice, and donuts following an end of season celebration. They soon got things moving with excellent pitching by Tyler Harrison and great plays by Walker Previdi in right field and Noah DiNallo at first base. In the second inning, Benjamin Ochs connected for their first hit of the game with a shot right up the middle. Outs were recorded by a great stop at first by Eric Gray and by Jake Hossler making a diving catch from the pitcher’s mound. Both DiNallo and Blake Palmer put up singles in the third and then Gray threw three strikeouts to make quick work of the inning. Brian Pendergast had a lone single in the fourth. Connecting on defense were DiNallo at shortstop to Hossler at second and Previdi at pitcher to RJ Eller at first. The bats were hot in the fifth with another single by Ochs and hits by Devin Herbstman and Vinny Wilson. Pendergast put up three strikeouts of his own to bring the game to a close.

Art and Frame of Danbury: The Art and Framers took the field for the final time this season and saw great pitching from Hayden Miller, Sean O’Sullivan, and Michael Ihlefeld. Wiley Harris, Matthew DeMott, James Hillefeld, and Timmy Vigneau all had solid hits, while Hayden Miller and William Hornby supplied the power with deep blasts to the outfield. Trevor Hislop caught three innings and did a superb job while Travis McClay and Michael Early provided excellent defense.
