Not Another Nickel
Not Another Nickel
To the Editor:
Your editorial this week was quite interesting, urging voters to approve what will amount to another $41 million for high school expansion. This on the heels of yet another nearly backbreaking budget for many.
I can think of $10 million of those $41 million you wouldnât have to plead for if this arrogant excuse for a government listened to the people! Instead of spending $10 million on new town hall offices why didnât the money go toward the school system in the first place? You are right in urging people to support the schools, and we pretty much all do, but when the demand for school support comes from the same government that clearly has no interest in what the people say or think, then the answer should be No.
I wonât vote another nickel for this shameful smarmy arrogant excuse for a town government to use for anything. I think everyone who is dissatisfied with the games the town government played in order to get their unneeded office space, should vote No and continue to vote No for these kinds of super high price tag items. I for one am sick and tired of this government holding the children of the town hostage! Each year itâs the same story, âGive us what we want or weâll make your kids suffer.â Well if the kids in this town suffer, itâs the town governmentâs fault not the votersâ. Itâs time to put a stop to this con game.
