Auditions For ‘Steel Magnolias’

SHERMAN — Auditions for the Sherman Players autumn production of Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling have been scheduled for Sunday, July 8, from noon to 3 pm, and Monday, July 9, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The auditions will be conducted at The Sherman Playhouse, at the intersection of routes 37 and 39 (behind Sherman Firehouse).

Craig Rosen will direct Steel Magnolias. He will audition to fill five women roles ages 19 to 75.

Revolving around Truvy’s Beauty Parlor in a small parish in modern-day Louisiana, Steel Magnolias is the story of a close-knit circle of friends whose lives come together within the walls of the beauty parlor. Filled with humor and heartbeak, these “Steel Magnolias” make us laugh and cry as the realities of their lives in tiny Chiquapin Parish unfolds.

Steel Magnolias will open September 13, and run Friday and Saturday nights through October 6.
