What is your business background? I have had my cosmetology license for over 15 years. I’ve also been a dental assistant for over 20 years and a hairstylist.

Serenity Nails + Beauty opened during the 2021 holiday season, and I have already met so many wonderful clients. I have always wanted to gravitate towards Newtown. It is such a lovely community. I found out about the property availability through a real estate agent associate of mine. I am very optimistic about finding our niche here.

What is your business focus? Meeting and exceeding the expectations of our clients. Life can be difficult, and a micro vacation focused on our valued customers can be therapeutic and change one’s outlook. I pride myself on connecting with people and understanding their needs and desires. If we can accomplish that and have the people we serve leave feeling better about who they are, I have done my job.

We offer a full line of services ranging from manicures to spa pedicures and fungus treatments, as well as a small storefront in our reception area. We use high-end products for our services, OPI shellac & SNS brands.

What is something important to you that readers know about your business? The business name “Serenity” is something we chose carefully. I started working when I was seven years old helping my single mother earn money for me and my two sisters in South America by sewing clothes. Our home was fatherless, and every penny counted. I emigrated to this country as a young woman and worked a series of jobs, gradually elevating my situation. I too became a single mother with two children and was able to provide for them higher education and opportunities that exceeded my own through tireless effort. During this trying time, I was always able to achieve serenity because I knew my struggles were just.

I developed a deep sense of humanity, and through this business endeavor I want to provide a similar sense of peace for the people that walk through our doors. I want people to feel good about themselves, and I am confident our services, coupled with our business focus, can provide that very thing.
