A Loss To NFA And Community
To the Editor:
The Newtown Forest Association has lost a great friend and member in Martha Wright, who passed away this week. Martha was an active board member for more than 27 years, serving as a past president and a current officer on the NFA board of directors. In addition to her work with the NFA, she also was the chairperson of the town's first open space task force and served on the Newtown Conservation Commission.
Beginning with her first organizing of a neighborhood community preservation group, Martha showed her passion for open space preservation. She impressed everyone with her dedication, intelligence, forthright engagement in discussions, and willingness to contribute whatever way she could.
A true loss to the community and the organizations she was involved with. Our thoughts are with her family; she will be missed by all.
