Mary Elizabeth Potter, 56, died in her sleep on June 15 at her home in Sandy Hook.regionalhospicect.org.Services will take place privately. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Ms Potter's life to be held at the Disabled American Veterans Hall, 25 Segar Street, Danbury, on Saturday, July 9, from 4 to 9 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut,

Ms Potter was born on December 30, 1959, to Pauline and Richard Potter of Ridgefield. She attended Ridgefield schools and went on to earn her associate degree in mental health from Naugatuck Community College.

She worked for nearly 20 years at Southbury Training School, where she lovingly cared for their neediest clients. Ms Potter's humanity, wonderful sense of humor and kindness will certainly be missed by her family, co-workers and the many people whose lives she touched.

Ms Potter loved spending time with her family and friends. She filled a room with her laughter and larger than life personality wherever she went.

Her daughter, Danielle Marie Capozziello, who was Ms Potter's pride and joy and the center of her universe, survives her.

She is also survived by eight siblings and their spouses: Patrick and Kimberly Potter of New Milford; Christopher and Mary Potter of Bethlehem; Suzanne and Noel Shumsky of Mashpee, Mass.; Luann Bianco of Westfield ,Mass.; Madelene and Leroy Pryor of Pittsburgh, Penn.; Hugh and Helly Potter of Orange; Barbara and Jimmy Wilson of Danbury; and Margaret and Richard Barese of Danbury.
