Warrant
On the morning of June 19, police arrested Tasmeer Boyd, 36, of Bridgeport on a warrant, charging him with reckless driving and with failure to have automotive insurance in connection with a one-vehicle accident last November 7 on South Main Street.
In that accident, Boyd was driving a 1986 Chevrolet Caprice sedan, near 123 South Main Street, the site of the former Fireside Inn, which was under redevelopment for use as Highland Plaza.
Boyd drove off the road, with the auto landing in the construction site, where firefighters needed to free him from the wreckage.
Police held Boyd on $500 bail for a June 20 appearance at Danbury Superior Court.
The Boulevard
A one-vehicle accident occurred on The Boulevard about 9:30 pm June 18, police report.
Motorist Michael Kearns, 17, of 11 Dogwood Terrace was driving a 1995 Plymouth Acclaim sedan southward on The Boulevard, when the auto skidded while rounding a curve and crossed the road, colliding with some guardrailing, police said.
Kearns was not injured. Police issued him a written warning for traveling too fast for conditions.
Berkshire Collision
Police report a collision involving a pickup truck and a SUV on Berkshire Road (Route 34) about 3:40 pm June 20.
Motorist Christopher Haggerty, 44, of 9 Grace Moore Road, who was driving a 2007 Toyota pickup truck northward, stopped for traffic conditions, after which the truck was struck from behind by northbound motorist Maria E. Delgadillo-Gonzalez, 34, of Hamden, who was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe sport-utility vehicle, police said.
 There were no injuries. Delgadillo-Gonzalez received a written warning for following too closely, police said.
DUI Arrest
State police report they received numerous calls concerning an erratically driven vehicle in the vicinity of Exit 10 of eastbound Interstate 84, which then pulled into a nearby gas station and parked there improperly at about 2:30 am June 20, so they went to the area to investigate.
After locating the vehicle, state police investigated and charged motorist William Dardani, 21, of Trumbull, with driving under the influence. Dardani posted $500 bail and was released from custody for a July 7 arraignment on the charge in Danbury Superior Court.
Weapon Charge
Motorist Timothy Murray, 48, of Stratford was driving a commercial Ford van about 2:10 pm June 16, when he struck the rear end of a Ford SUV that was stopped at a red traffic signal at the end Interstate 84âs Exit 11 off-ramp, state police said.
There were no injuries. On investigating, state police found Murray to be in possession of an illegal knife in his vehicle.
State police charged Murray illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, releasing him on $1,000 bail for a June 30 court appearance.
Police also issued Murray an infraction ticket for following too closely.
South Main Crash
Police report a two-vehicle accident involving a compact SUV and a pickup truck at 255 South Main Street, in front of Waterfall Plaza, at about 9 pm June 11.
In the accident, motorist Carmen P. Rosa, 50, of Monroe, who was driving a 2005 Hyundai Tucson northward on South Main Street, collided with motorist Brent Cavallaro, 32, of Derby, who was driving a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup truck northward, police report.
There were no injuries. Police issued Rosa a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart. Police issued Cavallaro a written warning for making an improper right turn.
Ford Vs Chevy
At about 7:24 pm June 24, while traveling in the left eastbound lane of Church Hill Road, motorist Robert Ortiz, 22, of Bethel, who was driving a 2004 Ford Focus, attempted to enter the right eastbound lane, but collided with motorist Celester Scherer, Jr, 42, of Woodbury, who was driving a 1998 Chevrolet van in that lane, police report.
There were no injuries. Ortiz received a written warning for failure to drive in the established lane, police said.
Van Off Road
Motorist Patrick OâLoughlin, 39, of Brighton, Mass., was driving a commercial 2008 Chevrolet van eastward near 214 Hattertown Road about 10 pm June 19, when he took his eyes off the road and then drove off the right side of the street, knocking over a wooden fence there, police said.
OâLoughlin was not injured. Police have him a written warning for making a restricted turn.
Berkshire Collision
Police report a two-vehicle accident on eastbound Berkshire Road, near its intersection with Toddy Hill Road, on June 20.
Motorist Nancy Cerreta, 53, of 6 Leopard Drive, who was driving a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV, was slowing for traffic conditions, when the Jeep was struck from behind by motorist Patrick Carbonell, 22, of 8 Honey Lane, who was driving a 1992 Plymouth Acclaim sedan, according to police.
There were no injuries. Carbonell received a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Moving Violations
During a routine police check of passing motor vehicles in front of Newtown Middle School on Queen Street at about 8:50 am June 24, police stopped motorist John B. Maia, Jr, 45, of Waterbury, because the vehicle he was driving had no front marker plate.
Police charged Maia with failure to have a front marker plate, driving with a suspended license, and failure to have an automotive insurance identification card.
 After processing, police released Maia on $100 bail for a July 8 court appearance.
Altercation
Police received a call about 12:45 pm June 23 alerting them of an altercation in the lobby of the Connecticut Light & Power Company (CL&P) building at 20 Barnabas Road, after which they went there to investigate.
Police charged Eugene Grenier, 62, of Danbury with disorderly conduct in connection with the incident.
Police released Grenier on a written promise to appear July 8 in Danbury Superior Court.
Warrant
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Anthony Bonos, Jr, 47, of Danbury went to the police station on the morning of June 25 and was charged with evading responsibility and with failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Police said the arrest stems from a May 17 motor vehicle accident involving Bonos that occurred on South Main Street at its northern intersection with Peckâs Lane.
After processing, police released Bonos from custody on a written promise to appear July 28 in Danbury Superior Court.
