July Programs At Jewish Center

SOUTHBURY –– The Federation of Jewish Communities of Western Connecticut is holding its Love and Knishes Senior Lunch Program on Tuesdays in July. Lunch at noon is followed by lectures and musical entertainment at 1 pm.

All programs are open to the public. Suggested donations are $5.50 for seniors and $8 for those under age 60. The luncheons take place at the Walzer Family Jewish Community Campus, 444 Main Street North.

On July 1, soprano Caribeth Klemundi will perform songs in several languages, accompanied on the piano by Allen De Ferrari. On July 8, Cindy Burke of the Connecticut chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will talk about Alzheimer’s disease, related dementias, and caregiving.

On July 15, mezzo-soprano/composer Sharon Ruchman will sing Yiddish songs. Maestro David Dworkin will return at 11 am on July 22 for Conductorcise, a workout for body and soul. Singer/guitarist Kathy Nativo will perform on July 29.
