How Long In Newtown: I have lived here ten years. I am a longtime Connecticut resident, having grown up in Milford, but I moved to Florida for eight years before coming back north. I guess I’m just a New Englander at heart. I love the change of seasons.

Biggest Change You Have Seen In Town: It would have to be the growth in population and traffic. I could really see the difference over the years I was away and then returned. A lot of the big trees and open space were gone and there were so many new developments. I used to think of Newtown as fairly rural and quiet, but it’s not like that any more.

Family: My husband Vincent and I have been married 12 years. We have one daughter, Kristen, who is 8. She attends Middle Gate School and is in the third grade. I also have three sisters and a 1-year-old Bichon Frise named Sam.

Hobbies: I enjoy running, hiking, and photography, especially black and white. I love gardening and visiting art museums. My favorite artist is Van Gogh. I also enjoy traveling.

Favorite TV Show: I watch Home and Garden TV, Travel Channel, Discover, and CNN to stay current.

Organizations: I’ve been a member of the Newtown Chamber of Commerce for two years, and the Newtown Junior Women’s Club for five years.

Most Vivid Memory About Newtown: I remember when we first moved here, what attracted me to Newtown was its peacefulness, open space, and abundance of trees. I also have enjoyed meeting new people in town and how warm and friendly everyone is here.

Favorite Vacation Spot: I have several…St Pete Beach, Fla.; East Beach, R.I. –– it’s only one and a half hours away and there are no rocks, just soft, brown sand; Portland, Maine; and Kauai Island in Hawaii –– it’s heaven, very small and not commercial at all.

Personal Philosophy: Live life to the fullest as every day is a blessing from God. Be thankful for what you have. My daughter is very important to me, and I enjoy watching her grow and try to savor each moment. It goes by so fast.
