Literacy Volunteer Plan Tutor Training

DANBURY — Literacy Volunteers of America, Danbury, Inc., will hold tutor training for those who want to volunteer to teach English as a Second Language and basic literacy training during July.

English as a Second Language tutor training will be held on July 9, 11, and 13, from 9 am to 3 pm at the LVA-Danbury headquarters. The teacher will be Mary Kiniry.

On Mondays and Thursdays, October 8, 11, 15, 18, 22, and 25, the tutor training will be held from 7 to 9:30 pm. The teacher will be Ellen Parrella of Newtown.

Basic literacy training only will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, and 26, from 7 to 9:30 pm. Ellen Cote will teach the series.

Seating may be limited so volunteers are asked to register early. Attendance at all workshops is required. To sign up or for more information, call LVA-Danbury at 792-8260.
