Geneva E.      Mandanici

Geneva E. Mandanici, 85, of Old Center Fayston Road, Waitsfield, Vt., and a former longtime resident of Bridgeport, died at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, Vt., on June 25.

She is survived by a son, Dale Mandanici of Sandy Hook.

Born in Waitsfield on April 19, 1916, she was the daughter of the Late George and Bessie (Boyce) Cota. On November 7, 1946, she married Samuel Mandanici in Stratford. Mr Mandanici died on July 8, 1980.

Mrs Mandanici was a 1935 graduate of the former Waitsfield High School and worked as a telephone operator for several years in Waitsfield. Moving to Stratford during World War II, she worked for the Chance Vought Company manufacturing the F4U Corsair fighter plane. Following her marriage, they lived in Bridgeport, where Mrs Mandanici was busy as a homemaker and raising her family. She had made her home in Waitsfield since October 2000. In her leisure time, she enjoyed needlework and gardening.

She is also survived by her daughter, Celeste Minotti of Waitsfield; another son, Dana Mandanici of Danbury; and five grandchildren, Michael Minotti, Renee Rhoads, Kara, Michael, and Melissa Mandanici; a great-grandson, Olin Rhoads; a brother, Kenneth Cota of Manchester, N.H.; and nieces and nephews. A brother, Paul Cota, and a sister, Marcella James, predeceased her.

Funeral services will be held from Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Waitsfield on Friday, June 29, at 2 pm.

Arrangements are in the care of the Perkins-Parker Funeral Home in Waterbury, Vt.
