Catherine E. Rouse

Catherine E. (Oross) Rouse, 70, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of Robert P. Rouse, died on June 26 in St Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport.

She was the mother of Eileen M. Petchik of Sandy Hook.

She was born in Bridgeport, July 3, 1930, to the late Michael and Madeline Oross. Kay was a lifelong Bridgeport resident.

Survivors in addition to her devoted husband, Robert, include her three other daughters, Kathleen A. Brunetto Rouse of Bridgeport, Madeline A. Svirskas of Yory, Penn., and Mary T. Cannon of Hamden; a son, Patrick M. Rouse of Milford; a brother, Michael J. Oross; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Kay will be lovingly remembered for her motto, “When Life Gets Tough, Get a Hot Fudge Sundae.”

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 29, at 9:30 am in the Frank Polke & Son Funeral Home, 1546 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, and at 10 am in St Emery Church, Kings Highway, Fairfield.

Burial to follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery.

Calling hours were scheduled on June 28 from 4 to 8 pm.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
