Looking To The Future
Looking To The Future
To the Editor:
It seems a letter to the editor in last weekâs Bee attacked almost everyone. That is not surprising, but I hope that we can all agree that it is more important to talk about specific plans for the future rather than spending time seeking to place blame for the past.
There is one point that I want to make perfectly clear â The Democratic Party in Newtown is willing, in fact, encourages unaffiliated voters to contact us if they would like to serve on a board or commission. We have always selected who we feel is the most qualified and experienced person for the position regardless of their party affiliation. A good example is Mike Portnoy on the Board of Finance. Our criteria is, do they have the ability to help the town move forward. We still have openings for this November. If you are an unaffiliated voter and are interested, please contact me.
Sincerely,
James Juliano, Chairman
Newtown Democratic Town Committee
