Rear-Ender

Beth O’Keefe, 47, of 45 Horseshoe Ridge Road, who was driving a 2008 GMC Acadia, was traveling southward near 7 Main Street about 4:26 pm on June 23, when she slowed for traffic conditions, police said.

Southbound motorist Chelsea Kretkowski, 16, of Bethel, who was driving a 1997 Nissan Altima sedan, then struck the rear end of the GMC, police said.

There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Kretkowski for traveling too fast for conditions.

Fireworks Incidents

Police report they charged three men in connection with incidents about 6 pm on June 23 in which two residential mailboxes in the area of Shut Road and Webster Place were damaged by fireworks explosions.

Police said they arrested Adam Samuels, 26, of 128 Hanover Road; Justin McGrath, 19, of 152 South Main Street; and Richard Temple, 21, of 197 Walnut Tree Hill Road.

Police charged each of the three men with illegal possession of fireworks and with third-degree criminal mischief. Police said they also charged Samuels with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana.

Police released Samuels on $2,500 bail, and released McGrath and Temple on $250 bail each. All three men are scheduled for July 8 appearances in Danbury Superior Court.

Four Violations

Police report they stopped motorist Sean Ryan, 38, of Naugatuck about 3 pm on June 22 on Sugar Street because the vehicle he was driving had no front marker plate.

After investigating, police charged Ryan with failure to have a front marker plate, misuse of a marker plate, driving without a license, and failure to have automotive insurance.

Police released Ryan on a written promise to appear in court on July 2.

 

Dodge Vs Lexus

Judith Qualey, 62, of 1 Cedar Circle was driving a 2008 Lexus IS-250 northward on South Main Street and then slowed in preparing to make a left turn onto Park Lane at about 6:47 pm June 23, when the Lexus was hit from behind by a northbound 2006 Dodge Dakota pickup truck driven by Michaela Camm, 22, of Southbury, police said.

There were no injuries. Police issued Camm a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

Ford Hits Honda

About 9 am June 22, Anna Zilli, 47, of New Milford, who was driving a 2005 Ford southward near 48 South Main Street, struck the rear end of a southbound 2005 Honda driven by Patricia Schulze, 61, of Brookfield, police said.

There were no injuries. Police said Zilli received an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart and for driving without a license.

Evading

Police report a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Little Brook Lane and Botsford Hill Road about 11:37 am on June 20.

In that incident, a 2006 Chrysler driven by Mariana Silveira, 20, of 47 Botsford Hill Road, collided with a 2006 Nissan driven by Stephen Csordas, 55, of 3 Buck Trail, police said. There were no injuries.

Police said Silveira left the scene of the accident. Police later charged her with evading responsibility and with driving without a license. Police said they released Silveira on $500 bail for a July 9 court appearance.
