Determine Electricity Use With Kill-A-Watt
The C.H. Booth Library has Kill-A-Watt meters available for loan for library card holders interested in monitoring their household electrical usage. Find out how much any appliance or device uses by plugging in the meter, and plugging an appliance or device into the meter for 24 hours. Using the information displayed on the meter, calculate the number of kilowatts used per hour, day, and year.
Find out how much energy is used by cellphone chargers that are left plugged in 24/7, or how much energy can be saved by unplugging the television when you go to sleep.
Kill-A-Watt meters may be borrowed for three weeks and are available at the second floor circulation desk. For more information, call the library at 426-4533, or visit the libraryâs website at chboothlibrary.org.
