Brookfield Man Charged

In Road Rage Incident

Police said they charged a man on a warrant on June 23 in connection with a road rage incident that occurred on South Main Street on May 10.

Police said they arrested Emilio Diamantini, 46, of Brookfield on charges of first-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, and evading responsibility, plus two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment.

After processing the arrest, police released Diamantini on $1,500 bail for a July 7 arraignment on the charges in Danbury Superior Court.

Police described the incident which prompted the arrest.

On May 10, Diamantini was driving a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup truck southward near 97 South Main Street, when a 2009 BMW 328-XI driven by a Massachusetts man pulled out onto the road in front of the Dodge, police said.

In reaction to the BMW pulling out in front of him, Diamantini then allegedly intentionally struck the left side of the BMW with the Dodge and then continued driving southward without stopping, police said.

Following an investigation, police obtained a warrant for Diamantini’s arrest.
