New Playwrights Collective Is Seeking Submissions

BROOKFIELD — The Country Players of Brookfield has founded a new play development group, The Playwrights Collective, and is seeking submissions by Connecticut playwrights for its play series.

The collective will choose one play a month for a development reading at the Country Players theatre in Brookfield. Following each reading there will be a talkback with the audience, the collective’s project director, literary managers and members of the playreading committee.

Only new, original, one-act and full length plays and musicals by residents of Connecticut, which have not had a full production, will be considered. If selected, the playwright must attend the reading.

Playwrights should submit the manuscript typed in standard format, one-page synopsis; the cast list; resumé; SASE, and demo tape for musicals. The deadline is open-ended.
