University Of Connecticut Offers Summer Session
STORRS â The University of Connecticutâs College of Continuing Studies is now offering summer session courses to help students with their academic planning. Without the heavy course load required during the fall or spring semesters, students can narrow their focus and allow themselves to concentrate on a particular subject and accelerate their academic careers.
UConn offers flexible three- and six-week summer sessions. The six-week session runs from July 12 to August 19 and is available at all six campuses: Avery Point, Hartford, Stamford, Storrs, Torrington, and Waterbury. The intensive three-week session runs from July 19 to August 5 and is available at several campuses. Housing and meal plans are available at the Storrs campus.
These sessions make it easy for students to balance their education with a summer job, vacation, or some much-deserved rest and relaxation in the sun. Students can choose from undergraduate credit courses in more than 100 different subjects. There are more than 800 sections offered across the state, including evening courses at several campuses and fully online courses offered during the six-week summer sessions.
Summer session classes are held in the morning, afternoon, or evening while online classes offer a more flexible schedule for students with full-time jobs or other limiting time constraints. Students do not have to be matriculated at UConn to enroll in Summer Session courses. UConnâs nondegree study program allows students to earn academic credits without being formally admitted to a UConn degree program. Students from other colleges and universities can also enroll in Summer Session courses and transfer the credits to their own institution.
