Book Discussion On ‘Secret Life Of Bees’

BETHEL — On Tuesday, July 13, at 7 pm, Bethel Public Library’s monthly book discussion will focus on The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd.

Publications Weekly said, “Honey-sweet but never cloying, this debut by nonfiction author Kidd features a hive’s worth of appealing female characters, an offbeat plot and a lovely style.” Set in 1964, the year of the Civil Rights Act, in South Carolina, the book has been widely praised as a remarkable story about female power and the ability of love to transform lives.
