A Remarkable Community

To the Editor:

I wanted to extend my gratitude to the many people in town who came to my assistance during my recent accident. I am constantly in awe of the number of people in Newtown who volunteer their time and energy to others. This town, which has been home to our family for over 32 years, is truly a remarkable community.

Special thanks to the Newtown Police, the Newtown Hook and Ladder Company, the Newtown Ambulance Association for their able, caring assistance during a very difficult time. In addition, I wanted to thank the friends, neighbors, and others who reached out through cards, prayers, and phone calls. A special mention to Debbie and Jim Stiewing for their particular efforts and compassion.

My husband Art and I are ever thankful.
