Group Therapy For Adolescents
Group Therapy For Adolescents
The Family Counseling Center, Inc, has announced that it will continue its series of group therapy sessions for adolescents this summer.
Two groups are now forming and will meet for one and one-half hours on Tuesdays beginning in July. The middle school group will focus primarily on the development of social skills, family communication, and relationships. The high school group will address the peer and societal pressures facing adolescents today.
Kathryn Krecker, a therapist with the family counseling center, will lead the groups. Group members will learn coping and problem solving skills as well as strategies to deal with conflicts at home and school.
The FCC is a state-licensed and accredited nonprofit mental health agency in Newtown offering counseling for families and individuals in the greater Danbury and Southbury area. Anyone who is interested in either of the adolescent groups, or who needs other information, can contact the FCC at 426-8103.
