Federation Hires New Social Worker
DANBURY ââ The Jewish Federation of Greater Danbury announced that Rosalind Kopfstein will be the new Jewish Family Services Social Worker.
For the past year, Dr Kopfstein has been a working member of the Jewish Family Service committee and has served on the education grants committee.
She received a bachelorâs degree in sociology and environmental studies from SUNY at Albany, her masterâs of social work at Hunter College and a doctorate in social work at the City University Graduate Center.
Dr Kopfstein and her husband are members of Temple Bânai Chaim, where she is active in sisterhood and the Caring Committee.
 At the Jewish Federation, she has been active in Jewish Family Services and also served on the education grants committee.
She teaches sociology at Western Connecticut State University, and consults at New Milford Nursing home in New Milford and Waterview Hills Nursing Center in Purdyâs, N.Y. She has worked for home care agencies, agencies that assist the retarded and handicapped and has extensive experience working with the elderly. She has published numerous papers, and presented several lectures on the topics of the elderly and disabled.
The Jewish Family Service of The Jewish Federation started several years ago as an information and referral service. Today, it has grown to encompass weekly senior programs, educational programs, the Danbury Jewish Coalition for Literacy, and Miriamâs Well, a source for Jewish spiritual healing.
