Doris S. LaChapelle

Doris S. LaChapelle, a former Grosse Pointe and St Clair Shores, Mich., resident, died June 20 at the Bon Secour Nursing Care Center in St Clair Shores.

Mrs LaChapelle was born in Union Station, Ohio, and met her husband Quinten while working for US Rubber (Uniroyal) Tire Company in Detroit.

Survivors include a son, Timothy LaChapelle of Sandy Hook; a daughter, Suzanne Thomas of Canton, Mich.; three bothers, Wayne, Virgil and Donald Carlyle; and three grandchildren, Quinten, Nicole and Jacquelyn LaChapelle. She was predeceased by her husband.

Mrs LaChapelle was an active member of the Grosse Pointe Health Education Council. She held the position of membership chairman and worked with many of the area dentists to provide early fluoride treatments to the pupils of the Grosse Pointe School District.

Mrs LaChapelle enjoyed her many visits to Newtown. Memorials may be sent to The Newtown Congregational Church Building Fund.

A memorial service is planned for August 9 at the First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth, Mich.
