GIRLS C/D

 

STRIKERS 3, TITANS 1: Sarah Greenhill and Melissa Russell powered the offense and helped lift the Strikers to the win in the season finale. Danielle Springmeyer and Nikki Boggs also played well. For the Titans, Jenna Zigman scored the goal on an assist from Shana Musco. Michelle Kukla and Elizabeth Cole had strong defensive games.

DYNAMITE 7, VICTORY 4: Jenn Blauvelt, Danielle Nicolosi, Aileen Kerns, Shannon Kirch and Sally Tabler led a powerful Dynamite offense in a season-ending victory. Rachel Nicolosi and Amber Finlayson anchored the defense and goaltender Amanda Roy was named MVP. For the Victory, Elaine McCafferty scored the hat trick and Caitlin (Cat) Williams added a solo goal. Alicia Rogers sparked the defense.

Tournament

 

In the quarter-finals of the Girls’ E Division tournament, the Bombers defeated the Nightmare, 4-1, and the Dolphins blanked the Tigers, 4-0. The Razors, meanwhile, defeated the Destroyers, 2-0, as the Shooting Stars defeated the Torpedoes, 2-1, on penalty kicks. In the semi-finals, the Bombers edged the Razors, 2-0, as the Dolphins blanked the Shooting Stars, 4-0.

In the tournament championship, the Dolphins continued their dominance with a 4-0 win over the Bombers. Gina Bonacci scored a pair of goals while Mary Bloshuk and Jen Durelli scored solo goals. Sammy Carlisle played well in goal. For the Bombers, Kasey Schulz, June Repasi, Katherine Stanton and Laura Rice all had solid games.

BOYS F

 

LASERS 4, WOLFPACK 1: Tony Vacaro scored a pair of goals and Dan Greenwood and Matt Iassogna added one apiece to lift the Lasers to the win. JP Stanton and Patrick Shirley both played well on defense. For the Wolfpack, Marc Bonacci scored the lone goal as Ashwin Ramaswami, Jacob Barrett and Zack Baudisch all had solid games.

GIRLS U10

 

WOLCOTT 1, HURRICANES 0: The Hurricanes suffered their only loss of the season – but it came in the championship game of the Northwest District. Controlling the offensive tempo all game long, the Hurricanes were denied goals both by the crossbar and goal post on shots taken by Nora Lynn Shimko and Genna. Megan Hansen, Haley Keane, Kelly Sullivan, and Katie Serock applied tremendous pressure all game. Supporting Emily DeMarco in goal, the defense team was comprised by Emily Weber, Colleen Thornberg, Molly Curry, and Kristine Zadrovitz. Contributing all year long and absent for this contest were Cassie David, Tania Domingos, and Hannah Tennenbaum. The team was coached by Jeff Hansen and Jack Weber.

BOYS U10

 

NIGHTMARE 1, SHERMAN 0: The Nightmare finished up its spring season in fine fashion, beating the previously unbeaten first-place Sherman team. Conor McManus scored the only goal of the game. Daniel Kostecki was stellar in goal for the winners. The Nightmare finished up 6-2. Team members included Ethan Carotti, John Gouveia, Andrew Meisel, Connor Collier, Jason Kostecki, Conor McManus, Andrew Domingos, Daniel Kowarick, Kurt Nacewicz, Michael Fay, Chris Marks, Daniel Quinn,  Ryan Goodridge, and Michael Kearns. Steve Goodridge was the head coach and he was assisted by Ron Skelton, who trained the team.

BOYS U12

 

RAGE 3, WATERTOWN 2: Joe Rahtelli scored a pair of goals while Michael Kennedy scored a goal and chipped in with an assist to lead the Rage to the win. Jack Quinn also had an assist. Steve Marks made several nice saves in goal for the Rage, which ended the season at 16-2 overall, 8-0 in the Northwest District. This was the third year in a row the Rage – who also won the Southington Tournament title – won their division title. Team members are Tyler Bigham, Matt Boland, Mark Cinquegrana, Brian Conroy, Justin Durelli, Aron Fay, Mike Kennedy, Michael Klein, Eric MacKnight, Ross Macleod, Steve Marks, Billy McCann, Matt Norris, Chris Nuelle, Jack Quinn, Joe Rahtelli and Nick Sando. The head coach is Brian Neumeyer and Al Taubert assisted.

GIRLS U13

 

ROCKETS 2, BUNKER HILL 0: Tara Gaston and Casey Frobey both scored to lead the Rockets to the win and a clinching of the league championship title. Jill Tanner was off the injured list and came out to play an awesome game. The Rockets finished out the game with passing and containment, not letting Bunker Hill through. Tori Thomas and Caitlin Hansen were in goal.
