Donald Robert Smith, Sr

Donald Robert Smith, Sr, 66, of 208 Alice Drive, Anderson, S.C., husband of the late Gale (Bell) Smith, died June 21 at Anderson Area Medical Center.

He was the father of Robert Frank Smith of Newtown.

He was born in Bridgeport on February 1, 1935, to the late Frank H. Smith, Sr, and Doris (Peer) Smith. He was a retired employee of Kroger Bakery.

Survivors include two other sons, Donald Robert Smith, Jr, of Stratford and Gary Lee Smith of Lincolnton, N.C.; two brothers, Frank H. Smith, Jr, of Fairfield and Richard A Smith of Iva, S.C.; and five grandchildren.

The funeral took place at the McDougald Funeral Home Chapel, Anderson, S.C., on June 24, with Dr Robert B. Claytor officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum at a later date.
