What a weekend.

Joe Devellis, a spunky 12-year-old from Nick’s Restaurant, had the kind of astounding weekend (in the Newtown Babe Ruth American League championship series) that most kids can only dream about.

In Game 1 last Friday, with his team holding on to one loss in the double-elimination tournament, belted not one, but two grand slam home runs to lead Nick’s Restaurant to a 14-4 win. And in Game 2 on Sunday, Devellis came back with a three-run jolt to lead Nick’s Restaurant to an 11-5 win and the American League championship.

Three homers.

Eleven runs batted in.

What a weekend.
