C.H. Booth Library is excited to offer a new and exciting mix of online author talks from New York Times Best Selling Authors and a Pulitzer Prize winning historian this summer.

The series kicks off on Thursday, July 7, at 9 pm — that is the correct time, yes — with an evening event featuring New York Times Best Selling author and Reese Witherspoon Book Club pick Alka Joshi.

Joshi will be discussing her captivating and bestselling novels, The Henna Artist and The Secret Keeper of Jaipur. The author plans to share her inspirations for her work, how her mother’s life story has influenced her writing, and her experience and role in the creation of a Netflix series based on her books.

Q&A with Joshi will follow the talk.

This will be an online discussion and registration is required.

Then, on Thursday, July 14, at noon, the library will host a conversation with New York Times Best Selling author David Allen, one of the world’s most influential thinkers on personal productivity.

Copies of Allen’s book, Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity, are available at the library. This program will be a hybrid offering, with those comfortable gathering in person invited to assemble in the Gathering Room of the library, 25 Main Street. Lunch will be provided to those who are participating at the library.

Both of the virtual author talks will be available to watch online after the viewing.

These are the first two of a new series of programs Booth Library is doing in partnership with The Library Speakers Consortium.

Contact the library at chboothlibrary.org or 203-426-4533 to register for either of these programs, and to learn about additional offerings for the summer.
