Town offices will be closed Monday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.

Newtown Senior Center, C.H. Booth Library, Edmond Town Hall, Newtown Community Center, and Newtown Senior Center will all be closed.

All classes at the community center will be canceled July 1-5.

Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles offices continue to operate by appointment only. Visit portal.ct.gov/DMV to schedule one or to view the list of available online services.

There will be no regular mail delivery/pickup or retail services for the United States Postal Service on Monday.

All Federal Reserve banks and branches (most banks) will also be closed Monday.

The Bee Publishing Company offices will be closed on Monday, July 4.

Print Edition Deadlines

Real estate display ads are due by 10 am, Friday, July 1, for the July 8 print edition of The Newtown Bee.

Regular display (non-real estate) ads will be due at their regular deadline of 10 am Tuesday.

In-column real estate ads will also be due by noon, Tuesday, July 5.

Regular classified ads will have their regular 1 pm Wednesday deadline that week.

A few Editorial deadlines will be affected by the holiday.

Press releases to be considered for the Business, Education, Health, and Sports pages will all be due by noon, Friday, July 1.
