Local Republicans and Democrats continue to seek interested residents who want to give back to their community by considering service on local elected boards and in appointed positions on various committees serving the community.

Candidate’s Committee Chair Herb Rosenthal told The Newtown Bee that Newtown’s Democratic Party needs good, qualified candidates for many offices, including First Selectman, Board of Education, Board of Finance, Legislative Council and Planning & Zoning Commission.

Democrats, unaffiliated, independents, and even Republican voters who are willing to run on the Democratic ticket can contact Mr Rosenthal at 203-426-0660, or via email at HCRosenthal@aol.com.

Interested individuals may also contact DTC Chair Jim Juliano at 203-426-0065 or jtjuliano@aol.com.

Local Republicans or other individuals considering service may also contact Republican Town Committee Candidate’s Chair John Godin via email, at jgodin1312@gmail.com.

Mr Godin said his team is seeking to field the best and most qualified slate of candidates possible on this November’s ballot, and that there are frequent vacancies to fill on more than a dozen local appointed boards and committees.
