Wlasuk, Feinstein Compete In Nationals

University of Connecticut-bound thrower John Wlasuk capped off his high school career with a seventh-place finish in the shot put event at the New Balance Nationals in Greensboro, NC this past weekend.

Wlasuk had a throw of 57-06.50. The Newtown High School record-holder won South-West Conference, Class LL, State Open, and New England championships en route to a berth in the national competition. The Newtown thrower earned 14th in the national tourney’s javelin throw event with a toss of 162-07.

Jake Feinstein, a soon-to-be junior at NHS, also competed in the national meet. Feinstein placed eighth in the two-mile emerging elite run, finishing in 9:37.81.
