Installs New Board
BETHEL â Quota International of Candlewood Valley is a nonprofit service organization that has served the deaf and hearing impaired, and disadvantaged women and children in the greater Danbury area since 1978.
The local chapter recently held its installation dinner and awards ceremony at The Stony Hill Inn. The board of directors for 2011-12 is as follows: President Linda Bardelli of Brewster, N.Y.; Vice President Fran Denninger of Newtown: Treasurer Kris Beckman of Newtown; Corresponding Secretary Gloria Finnerty of Brookfield; and Recording Secretary Kara Kunst of Danbury.
Special recognition went to Louise Fornabaio of Brookfield, who was named Quota of Candlewood Valley 2010 Volunteer of the Year for her activities in the local community on behalf of Quota and the spirit of volunteerism so praised by Quota International.
Locally, the clubâs community service has included providing camperships for deaf children at Camp Isola Bella, donations to the Arthur C. Luf Burn Center Camp, donations of household items and clothing to Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and much more.
Quota International of Candlewood Valley meets the third Wednesday of each month at local restaurants. Social time begins at 5:30 pm, with dinner at 6. There is a $15 initiation fee for those who join, and annual dues of $90.
