Warrant

Newtown police report that Kenneth Denyko, 47, of Bethel was arrested on a warrant at the Meriden police station early on the morning of June 22 in connection with a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Newtown during a snowstorm on the night of January 7.

Newtown police said they charged Denyko with evading responsibility, failure to obey a stop sign, and traveling unreasonably fast in connection with a motor vehicle accident that occurred near the intersection of Sugar Street and West Street.

Newtown police said they held Denyko on $500 bail for a June 22 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Garage Damaged

Police report they are investigating what caused damage to a garage located at the St Rose of Lima Church campus at 46 Church Hill Road.

The damage occurred sometime between 8 am and 4 pm on June 11, according to police. Police ask anyone with knowledge of who caused the damage to contact them at 203-426-5841.

Botsford Incident

Police said they are investigating an attempted larceny that occurred sometime between 3 and 3:30 pm on June 21 near the intersection of South Main Street and Button Shop Road.

Police said that two males were spotted leaving a property near that intersection and walking toward a vehicle that was parked on Button Shop Road, near a sand and gravel company.

Anyone with information on the identities of the two males involved in the incident is asked to contact police Officer Charles Guernsey at the police station, telephone 203-426-5841.
