Attorney Buzzi Slugs Its Way To Title
Attorney Buzzi edged Ingersoll Auto 12-11 to win the Newtownâs 11-year-old Cal Ripken Baseball championship this past week.
Henry Primavera fielded a hard hit ground ball and threw quickly to first base to secure the win. Ethan Aug, who earlier pitched Buzzi to the championship game, saved the day in the last inning by shutting down the high-scoring Ingersoll club. Tim Cervera, Kent Mullen, Eugene Citrano, and Marc Lasorsa all delivered big hits to lead the day for the winners.
Joe Palanzo of Ingersoll, who hit two homeruns in the title game, became the first Cal Ripken player ever to homer on three different fields in one day.
