Summer Music & More Kicks Off Fifth Season June 30
WILTON â Wilton Libraryâs Summer Music & More Concert Series is primed to begin in the library courtyard on Thursday, June 30, from 5 to 6:30 pm, with Chance Browne and his blues band, Twinkies, opening for the fifth straight year.
The concert series features blues and many flavors of rock â contemporary, acoustic and good old rock nâ roll â over four consecutive Thursday evenings.
The 2005 series includes local favorites and some new faces. Along with the Chance Browne performance on June 30, concertgoers will see the return of the teen band Flooded and their friends on July 7; Jeff Harding, a â94 graduate of Wilton High School returns to the area with Frank Licari on guitar and vocals for the July 14 event; and Bob Riccio and his rock ânâ roll band, Kix, will also return, on July 21, to close out the series.
âWe are very much looking forward to this yearâs concert series,â said Kathy Leeds, library directory. âOur concerts are so well-attended with more than 100 people of all ages fill our courtyard, enjoying the music and munchies. Itâs such a fun time of year.â
Staging the concerts this year is a challenge with the construction on the library grounds.
âWith the construction going on all around, people should be aware of two very important things: the construction crews leave in plenty of time for the music to be heard loud and clear, and even though the library may be closed during the move or sections may be closed for the renovation, the concert series will be going strong in the courtyard,â noted Ms Leeds.
