Celebrating A Humanitarian Cause
Celebrating A Humanitarian Cause
To the Editor:
It was a truly a beautiful day in the Newtown neighborhood as attendees at the 16th Annual Summer Breakfast sponsored by the Newtown Chapter of Regional Hospice gathered at the Fireside Inn on June 24 to celebrate this most humanitarian cause. We wish to acknowledge those responsible for this fabulously successful event:
To the hosts/hostesses who donned the aprons and served their guests with such charm and wit.
To Joan Thorburn, our guest speaker, who touched and inspired us all by sharing her passion for hospice nursing.
To the guests who gave so generously on behalf of the hospice ideal.
To our local businesses and individuals who so willingly offered such fantastic items for raffle prizes including Café Grappa, Curves for Women, David Merrill, Elizabeth Ricci, Friends of Hospice, Genesis Hair Studio, Hollandia Nursery, JP Maguire Associates, Karenâs Fitness Studio, Lexington Gardens, Little Green Barn, McLaughlin Vineyards, Monroe Nails, Nutmeg Cleaners, Sandy Hook Hair Co., Stony Hill Inn, Taunton Wine and Liquor, The UPS Store, Therapeutic Bodywork, Villarinaâs, and Yankee Wine & Spirits.
To those who so unselfishly donated their time and talents including Eleanor McClellan, Jen and Mary, the âballoon expertsâ at Stop & Shop, Katie Studley, Kristin Hovious, Martene at Image One, the Newtown police officers, Pastor Jack Tanner, Terri Nackidâ¦and
To all who gave of their time, energies and monies in the real sense of community spirit,
We sincerely applaud you â
