Adult Diploma Graduates
WERACE/Newtown High School Adult Diploma Program held its 13th graduation on Tuesday, June 14. There were ten graduates present, however a total of 14 graduated.
The program offers classes to adults 16 years and older who have not received a high school diploma. The program is run under the auspices of Western Connecticut Adult and Continuing Education (WERACE) with classes taking place in three eight-week semesters during the school year. Students can also include independent studies to also earn credit towards their diploma.
This yearâs class comprised students from Newtown, Bethel, Easton, Southbury, and Middlebury. Diplomas were presented to Ariel Groh, Mary Rose Julian, Laurie Lawless, Nena Pierson, Susan Pomeroy-Platt, Tiffany Post, Christine Schumacher, Jeremy Terwilliger, Katherine Vadnais, and Geoffrey Wilkins. Also receiving diplomas but not able to attend Tuesdays graduation were Kristen Grimaldi, Jessica Hotchkiss, Travis Logan, and William Mantz.
