Alan R.           Hoffman, Sr

Alan R. Hoffman, Sr, 30, of Stratford, husband of Sidney (Cernoch) Hoffman, died June 20 in his home. Mr Hoffman was born December 15, 1971, in Bridgeport, son of Richard A. Hoffman and Catherine Topolski of Stratford.

Survivors in addition to his wife and parents include one brother, Aaron Hoffman of Newtown; three sons, Alan Hoffman, Jr, and Andrew Hoffman, both of Shelton, and Austen Hoffman of Stratford; one daughter, Ashley Hoffman of Shelton; one sister, Alexandria Hoffman of Shelton; his maternal grandparents, Edward and Jean (Skierski) Topolski of Stratford; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was a self-employed landscaper and a Stratford resident most of his life, having graduated from Bunnell High School, class of 1989. He was also a member of the Newtown Fish and Game Club.

A Memorial Mass was held on June 24 in Our Lady of Grace Church, Second Hill Lane, Stratford. Interment was private.

Donations may be made to the family to benefit the Hoffman children’s future educational needs.

The William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford, was in care of arrangements.
