Why 100 Dogs Will Be Rabies-Free
Why 100 Dogs Will Be Rabies-Free
To the Editor:
Last Saturday we held our 21st annual Low Cost Anti-Rabies Clinic in Newtown. We vaccinated 106 cats and dogs. This clinic was made possible by local veterinarian Dr Brian Silverlieb of Mt Pleasant Hospital Animals and his assistant, Mary Simpson â both of whom donated their time and service â my very special thanks to each of them.
I would also like to extend many thanks to the following volunteers from the Newtown Womanâs Club, who for the 14th year assisted at the clinic, Mary Antey, Pat Denlinger, Peg Forbell, Ellyn Gehrett, and Evelyn Sperr. Special thanks also go to Canine Advocates volunteers Virginia Jess, Adria Henderson, Debby Cyr, Roger Cyr, and Judy Caracciolo who donated their time to help with the animal control. Many, many thanks to the Dog Warden Carolee Mason, who was also on hand to assist with animal control. Susan Shpunt, Debbie Aurelia, and Lynn McCann from the town clerkâs office were also on hand and issued the new 2006 dog licenses.
Thanks again to all who helped to make this annual clinic a success.
Sincerely,
Cynthia S Simon
